Appeal following hit-and-run in Coventry
Date: Wednesday 26th September 2018

Police are appealing for information following a hit-and-run collision in Coventry yesterday (Monday 24 September).

A father and his seven-year-old son were struck by a white vehicle while crossing the A45 Fletchamstead Highway, near the Kenilworth Road junction around 4.40pm.

The boy was taken to hospital with facial injuries and his 38-year-old dad suffered a leg injury.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the white vehicle - believed to be a van or people carrier - which made off down Cannon Park Road.

Sergeant Mark Bull, from West Midlands Police traffic unit, said: "Fortunately, neither the father or his son were seriously injured.

“However, the driver of the vehicle would not have known this at the time and continued to drive off.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may help us identify the vehicle involved."
